Álvaro Restrepo, partner at ABCO Global, is an international business leader and Certified Executive Coach with over 30 years of experience in Research & Development, Global Innovation, and General Management in Consumer Goods. He has a proven track record in developing, leading and implementing effective innovation strategies, portfolios, and programs. Moreover, he has broad experience in organizational design, capability-building, talent development, and diversity & inclusion leadership.
Formerly, Álvaro Restrepo was a Vice President of Research & Development at Procter & Gamble, where he led the Innovation program for the Feminine Care business unit, a multi-billion business with an undisputed global leadership position. At Procter & Gamble, he developed a breakthrough global innovation portfolio that included: development and launch of new-to-the-world products like Always Infinity (recognized with the 2010 Edison Product Innovation Award); the Naturella Brand of Feminine Care products (first to deliver skin care benefits in the category); and numerous technological advances for top consumer brands (Always, Whisper, Tampax) in developed and developing markets. He effectively led a globally dispersed organization of several hundred scientists and engineers in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. He was also the Corporate Diversity and Inclusion leader for Hispanics at P&G.
Prior to this, Álvaro Restrepo was a General Manager at Varela Hermanos S.A., a leading beverage manufacturer in Panama, where he led all aspects of the business operations.
Mr. Restrepo is a Chemical Engineer graduated from Louisiana State University, and holds a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
